My Husband and I have a vision for the kind of education we want our children to experience. We want them to first know the Lord, and be immersed in the things of the Lord. Then we want education for them to be as natural as possible, using the everyday things of life. We want them to learn in an environment where they are allowed to be themselves, where their curiosity and expression is not stifled so as to fit a mould, and where the values and culture propagated is consistent with ours. We want them to try arts, music and sports at an early age, as well as learn a computer language because knowledge in IT is fast joining the league of life skills. We want them to have plenty of fun and to learn at their own pace. If they like a certain subject so much then let them learn as much of it as they want, without the restrictions of a standard syllabus. We want to spend plenty of time and be a big part of their learning. We want them to enjoy a slow breakfast, sleep in when they must and be able to travel with us anytime we want to. Do you happen to know a school that offers or allows all these, at a price-friendly rate?
That school is called Your Home School. And the reasons stated above led us to feel convicted about homeschooling our children, at least during their early years when their souls are still growing. By the time we later ‘release’ them to where we will feel God wants them to be, be it a regular school or college or wherever it will be, they will be cognizant of who they are, what they were made to be, and they will definitely do exploits for God.
But wait, there is one issue here. Both my Husband and I are employed. Will one of us have to resign or get a job that allows one to work from home? We did neither of this and we are here to tell the story. Enroll into our Homeschooling Masterclass and keep following us to see how this turns out. We want our daughter to start home school when she turns five in January.
